Assay for acetylcholinesterase inhibitors

There is disclosed a method for assaying the activity of an AChE inhibitor which comprises measuring neuronal network oscillations in the gamma frequency band of the EEG induced in an isolated cortical slice by the addition to said slice of said AChE inhibitor.
