The locking device comprises a body (17) with a ring-shaped part and a groove-shaped part (19) protruding from it. The groove-shaped part contains a hole for fixing a lock (23) at a given distance from the ring, in order to prevent the bar (11) connected to the motor from being moved from an inner end position where the link (14) connecting the bar to the motor fixes the motor in a given rotary position. This prevents any significant steering of the boat.
