PURPOSE:To provide a liquid crystalline resin composition, excellent in mechanical properties and heat resistance and suitable as electrical and electronic appliance parts, etc. CONSTITUTION:A liquid crystalline resin composition is obtained by melt- blending (A) 1-50wt.% liquid crystal resin, composed of structural units expressed by formulas I to III or formulas I to IV [R1 is formulas V to X, etc.; R2 is formulas V to VIII or formula XII (X is H or Cl)] and capable of forming an anisotropic molten phase with (B) 99-50wt.% one or more thermoplastic resins (e.g. polyester or polycarbonate) melt-moldable at a lower temperature than the liquid crystal starting temperature of the component (A), at a higher temperature than the liquid crystal starting temperature of the component (A) and stretching the resultant blend at >=4 stretch ratio. The obtained resin composition is then molded at a temperature below the liquid crystal starting temperature of the component (A) to afford a molded product in which the liquid crystalline resin of the component (A) is converted into dispersed particles having >=5 average aspect ratio and dispersed in the matrix phase of the thermoplastic resin (B). |
