Decontamination plant and procedures

A methodology applicable in a method of decontaminating a site having halo-organic contaminants is disclosed which includes excavating the contaminated site to derive the contaminated media, subjecting the excavated contaminated media to particle size separation to provide at least two streams, namely at least one stream of finer particle sizes ("fine stream(s)") and at least one stream of larger particle sizes ("large stream(s)"), and particularly subjecting the fine stream(s) to a dehalogenation procedure followed by blending with the large stream(s).
