A system for tracking and monitoring multiple moving objects includes a broad area monitoring apparatus (10) for registering and tracking moving objects within a monitoring area at a fixed position, and a local monitoring apparatus (20) including at least one local area monitoring camera (110) for tracking and monitoring a moving object to be tracked among the registered objects by the broad area monitoring apparatus until the moving object is out of a monitoring range. In the system, the broad area monitoring apparatus catches a moving object, recognizes the position of the moving object, and gives an order of tracking to the local area monitoring apparatus so that the local area monitoring apparatus tracks the moving object until the moving object is out of the monitoring area. Thus, multiple moving objects can be tracked and monitored in a fast and accurate manner. |
