The invention relates to a device for processing thermoplastic synthetic material, especially for the purpose of recycling, comprising a cutting compartment (2) in the bottom area (4) of which a grinding mill (5) is disposed that is provided with at least one rotor (6) rotating about a horizontal axis (9). Said rotor (6) carries on its periphery tools that reduce the material to be processed in size, especially knives (20) that are associated with stationary counter-bearings, especially counter-knives (21). At least one compression tool (15) is provided in the cutting compartment (2), which forces the synthetic material against the grinding mill (5), particularly a tamping slide (16) that is disposed in the bottom area (4) of the cutting compartment (2). The material reduced in size in the cutting compartment (2) is transported away by a screw (13), especially an extruder screw. The cutting compartment (2) communicates with a mixing compartment (23) into which the synthetic material is conveyed from the grinding mill (5). At least one rotating mixing organ (24) is disposed in the mixing compartment, which swirls the synthetic material and optionally reduces it in size and conveys the so treated material to the screw (13) and/or to the terminal section (33) of the grinding mill (5) neighboring the screw (13). |
