PURPOSE: An abnormality detecting sensor system for an air conditioner is provided to detect whether an abnormality is in a compressor of an air conditioner by precisely sensing an acoustic emission signals generated in the compressor after finishing the assembling work of the air conditioner. CONSTITUTION: An abnormality detecting sensor system for an air conditioner includes a main body having a concave surface(22) corresponding to an outer surface of a compressor of the air conditioner and a sensor(24) mounted to the concave surface for sensing AE(Acoustic Emission) signals generated from the compressor, and a handle(10) connected to a surface of the main body for the convenience of grasping in the hand, wherein a switch(12) is mounted to the handle for controlling the operation of the sensor system.
