MOTOR VEHICLE AC GENERATOR HAVING EXPLOSION PROOF STRUCTURE

PURPOSE: A motor vehicle AC generator having explosion proof structure is provided to prevent deterioration of operation reliability of AC generator by improving structure of the brush holder and easily discharging foreign substances generated due to the abrasion of brush. CONSTITUTION: An AC generator comprises a stator assembly and a rotor assembly. A brush holder(32) has protrusions(41,42) formed inside of the brush holder so as to couple the brush holder in a sliding manner to a groove(40) formed at a slip ring end frame(12), wherein one of protrusions is formed integrally with a flange(43) formed by extending the internal end of the brush holder. The flange is spaced apart from the groove formed at a slip ring(22) so as to easily discharge foreign substances generated by the abrasion of a brush(31). The brush holder closed by a cap(47) has an external air inlet hole(48) formed at an end of the brush holder, and the cap has an air passage(50) which is stepped from the external air inlet hole so as to allow external air to be introduced through a hole(49) formed at a rear cover(45) and block foreign substances.
