PURPOSE: A commercial Internet phone directory system and a method for making a telephone call using the same are provided to interconnect a purchaser and a desired seller, so that the acquisition of sufficient information for goods and satisfactory price negotiations can be achieved, and to save the call charge. CONSTITUTION: A commercial Internet phone directory system is comprised of a directory service access part(20), a directory service subscription part(30), a subscriber web server(40), an Internet phone directory server(50), and an Internet phone gateway(60). The directory service access part(20) consists of a connector messenger(21) and a generic connector web browser(22). The connector messenger(21), connected to the Internet(10), is a program to make a telephone call with a seller through an Internet phone. The generic connector web browser(22) is a web browser a purchaser uses. The directory service subscription part(30) contains a subscriber messenger(31) installed in the seller side and a subscriber web browser(32) the seller uses. The seller's homepage is constructed in the subscriber web server(40). The Internet phone directory server(50), composed of a directory management process(51), a generic connector process(52) and a subscriber process(53), manages directory service. The Internet phone gateway(60), connected with the Internet phone directory server(50) and also connected with a generic telephone(61) and a PSTN(62), transfers a voice supplied to the Internet to the Internet phone or the generic telephone(61).
