摘要 PURPOSE: Inner ball joint connecting structure of a steering system is provided to cut down expenses of parts and manufacturing costs with simple structure. CONSTITUTION: An internal threaded part(11) is formed in an end of a rack bar(10), and an external threaded part(21a) is formed in an end of a ball housing of an inner ball joint(20). The rack bar is connected to the ball housing of the inner ball joint with engaging the internal threaded part with the external threaded part. The end of the rack bar is extended to the ball housing, and a caulking part(12) is formed around the end of the ball housing in the extension portion. The end in the rear part of the external threaded part is extended to the rack bar, and caulking is performed around the internal threaded part of the rack bar to connect the rack bar and the inner ball joint. The engagement of threaded parts reinforces by connecting the rack bar and the inner ball joint with caulking. The rack bar is connected to the inner ball joint conveniently with caulking without inserting a tap washer or processing the outer periphery of the ball housing.
