The pinch region (6) is offset from the sidewall of the component (4), by transferring the mold separation zone to a location remote from it. Decorative material is wrapped over the edge and connected to it. An Independent claim is included for the corresponding mold. Preferred features: The pinch region (6) is located in a section of the component (4) which is not visible in the installed state. The pinch region is laid with a slide traveling in the mold separation zone. Decorative region is molded-on up to the pinch region or pinched down there. It is alternatively sunk into a recess in the component wall or onto the component, or a further decorative surface is cut off flush with the edge. During blow molding, a decorative material end (5a) projecting over the side wall, is held between a mold half and the slide (3) against it. The projecting end is laid over and around the edge, and bonded to the component. The end may be molded onto part of the edge during blow molding. The end of decorative material which is turned back is fastened to the pinch region, and as appropriate to a second decorative material fastened to this side of the component, with overlap. It may be separated off at the stop position or at the pinch zone. The edge of the double-walled component is pressed together to form a one-piece wall section; a covered edge.
