PURPOSE: A method for controlling sleep mode operation for cooler is provided to achieve a sleeping environment of optimum comfort by operating the cooler in accordance with the user's preference during an early period of sleep and changing the operation mode in consideration of sleeping rhythm of human body after elapse of a predetermined time period. CONSTITUTION: A method comprise a step(S301,S302) of starting operation of the timer when operating conditions of the cooler are input by a user; a step(S303) of judging whether the selected temperature(Tu) is higher than T3; a step(S304) of performing initial operation in accordance with operation conditions input by the user, if Tu is higher than T3; a step(S305) of allowing the main controller to judge whether the time counted by the counter has reached a predetermined time(tp1); a step(S306) of performing operation in preset different conditions, if the counted time has reached tp1; a step(S307) of allowing the main controller to judge whether the preset time input by the user has lapsed, and ending the operation if lapsed; a step(S308) of judging whether Tu is higher than T2 and lower than T3, if Tu is lower than T3 in the step(S303); a step(S309) of performing initial operation in accordance with operation conditions input by the user; a step(S310) of judging whether the time counted by the counter has reached a predetermined time(tp2); a step(S311) of performing operation in preset difference conditions, if the counter time has reached tp2; a step(S312) of allowing the main controller to judge whether the preset time input by the user has lapsed, and ending the operation if lapsed; a step(S313) of allowing the main controller to judge whether the time counted by the timer has reached a predetermined time(tpp2), if not lapsed; a step(S314) of performing operation in accordance with other preset conditions, if reached; and a step(S315) of allowing the main controller to judged whether the preset time input by the user has lapsed, and ending the operation if lapsed.
