Preventives for influenza characterized by containing, as the active ingredient, pharmacologically acceptable ester derivatives of compounds having a sialidase inhibitory activity and being administered to respiratory organs of subjects; and a method of preventing influenza which comprises administering a pharmacologically effective amount of the above active ingredient to warm-blooded animals.
