ABNORMALITY DETECTION APPARATUS FOR AIR CONDITIONER

PURPOSE: An abnormality detection apparatus for air conditioner is provided to minimize reject ratio and improve product reliability by sensing abnormality of product upon completion of assembly of air conditioner. CONSTITUTION: An abnormality detection apparatus comprises an acoustic emission sensor(24) attached in the vicinity of a vane arranged inside of a compressor so as to sense the acoustic emission signal generated from the compressor in the finished air conditioner; and a comparing and judging unit for judging abnormality of air conditioner by comparing the absolute average value for acoustic emission with a reference value, wherein the absolute average value is obtained by dividing the sum of signal values of a predetermined cycle from among signals sensed by the acoustic emission sensor by the number of total data. The comparing and judging unit compares acoustic emission energy value with a reference value, wherein the acoustic emission energy value is a square root of sum of squares of signal values sensed by the acoustic emission sensor.
