PURPOSE: An entrance restriction device and a method thereof are provided to freely add or remove fingerprints of entrance-admitted persons by adding a fingerprint registering function and control the entrance restriction by the image display or the fingerprint recognition selectively. CONSTITUTION: An entrance restriction device includes an indoor unit(100) having an image display part(120) for displaying an image of an outsider, a first key pad part(130) for inputting operation instructions by a person inside, a first fingerprint recognition part(140) for inputting and storing a plurality of fingerprints of persons admitted to enter, and a first control part(110) for outputting control signals for processing input data and instructions, and an outdoor unit(200) having a camera part(220) for photographing the image of the outsider, a second sound input/output part(250) for inputting/outputting voices of persons inside and outside, a second key pad(230) for inputting operation instructions, a second fingerprint recognition part(240) for determining whether the outside is entrance-admitted person or not, and a second control part(210) for outputting control signals for processing input data and instructions.
