PURPOSE: A split cooling refrigerator is provided, in which cooling air circulation is performed in the freezing compartment and refrigerating compartment independently from each other, to thereby reduce frost formation at the evaporator and power consumption, while achieving an improved efficiency of heat exchanger. CONSTITUTION: A split cooling refrigerator comprises a freezing compartment(20) arranged in the upper portion of a refrigerator; a refrigerating compartment(30) arranged in the lower portion of the refrigerator; a cooling air circulating channel(40) formed between the freezing compartment and refrigerating compartment; a first rear duct(22) arranged in the rear of the freezing compartment and connected to the cooling air circulating channel so as to allow for cooling air flow; a second rear duct(32) arranged in the rear of the refrigerating compartment and connected to the cooling air circulating channel so as to allow for cooling air flow; a first blower fan(24) arranged in the first rear duct so as to compulsorily circulate the cooling air from the freezing compartment through the cooling air circulating channel and the first rear duct; a second blower fan(34) arranged in the second rear duct so as to compulsorily circulate the cooling air from the refrigerating compartment through the cooling air circulating channel and the second rear duct; and an evaporator(700) dividing the cooling air circulating channel, and which is arranged in the cooling air circulating channel in such a manner that the upper portion of the evaporator is communicated to the first rear duct and the lower portion of the evaporator is communicated to the second rear duct.
