METHOD FOR SIMULTANEOUS SEPARATION OF THE YELLOW PIGMENT AND RED PIGMENT FROM CARTHAMUS TINCTORIUS L.

PURPOSE: A method for simultaneous separation of yellow and red pigments from Carthamus tinctorius L. is provided, to simply produce the yellow and red pigments of Carthamus tinctorius L. with decreasing the loss. CONSTITUTION: The method for simultaneous separation of the yellow and red pigments from Carthamus tinctorius L.(formula) comprises the steps of: adding water into the dried Carthamus tinctorius L. to obtain the water-soluble yellow pigment therefrom; adding alkalic solution to the yellow pigment free Carthamus tinctorius L. solution; filtering it and adding acidic solution thereto to obtain red pigment precipitates; adding organic solvent into the red pigment precipitates; and concentrating the precipitates under reduced pressure.
