This invention refers to a handsaw with a blade (2) and a handle (1) connected to a rear end of the blade by a joint (7) and comprising a locking mechanism (8) by means of which the blade can be locked relative to the handle. The handle comprises a stiff handgrip frame with two side walls connected by a common back and delimiting a first elongated forward open slot, and a tooth protector (3) with two second side walls connected by a second back and delimiting a second slot (24), where the tooth protector is displaceable between an inactive position and an active protective position protruding in the longitudinal direction of the handle. Characteristic of the invention is that the tooth protector is shaped as a slide (3) located in an elongated cavity in the handle and longitudinally slidable between said active and inactive positions. |
