This invention relates to a process for producing sustained release microcapsules of water soluble peptides, usable in injectable preparations and with adjustable release periods between 1 and 18 weeks, that consist in emulsionning continuously an active peptide in aqueous solution into an oily solution of a biodegradable polymer dissolved in an organic solvent slightly soluble in water, using for this intention, a first equipment of intensive agitation, closed to ambient, fed by dosage machines; after being cold, this first water/oil emulsion is taken by a dosage machine to a second intensive agitation equipment, air room closed, where it is continuously emulsified into an aqueous phase, that contains a protective hydrophilic colloid, which is fed by a continuous dosage machine to a closed recipient, where the solvent is evaporated by pressure reduction, producing the consolidation of microcapsules. Then, the suspension of microcapsules is sieved, centrifuged, washed with water, and fractionated into adequate recipients after dispersion into an aqueous medium that contains a lyophilizing excipient; then, they are frozen in an orbital agitation freezer at temperatures below -20 DEG C, and they are lyophilized into the same recipients.

|
