PURPOSE: A lane-out image processor of a vehicle is provided to process a large amount of input image data signals with a single fast processor having an algorithm for processing video signals and recognizing lanes, in real time with high performance. CONSTITUTION: A camera(20) takes a picture of a lane on a road when a vehicle is running. The obtained video signal is input to a lane-out image processor mounted inside a vehicle. The lane-out image processor outputs the video signal taken by the camera. The video signal is input to an amplification and filter circuit(21). The amplification and filter circuit sets frame processing, line processing, capture/display zones through a synchronizing signal separator(211) and inputs to an A/D input unit(22) by referring to frame, vertical and horizontal synchronization of the input video signal. The A/D input unit controls phase through a phase processor(221) to convert the framed, lined and captured/displayed video signal into digital data. Then, the A/D input unit converts the video signal into a digital video signal and inputs to a programmable gate array(23). The programmable gate array preprocesses the input real-time digital video signal requiring fast processing through a noise removing filter. The programmable gate array controls a memory unit(231) consisting of a fast SRAM(Static Random Access Memory), a memory for data storage, a command fetch and an EEPROM(Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory) for algorithm performance. The programmable gate array draws an algorithm for image capture/display saved in the memory unit and outputs the data to a control unit(24). The control unit performs fast real-time lane-out decision of the input video signal according to a predetermined program of the memory unit, converts the data into video signals through a video signal processor(25) and displays the video signal through a monitor(26). Therefore, the lane-out decision is performed promptly.
