PURPOSE: A multi media data processor of a TV broadcasting receiver is provided to control a telephone line connected to a TV broadcasting receiver using a control block. CONSTITUTION: A control block(1) judges whether a signal inputted through a telephone line is a telephone signal or a multi media data signal. The control block(1) has a voice/video mail detecting function, a searching function, and reproducing function. The control block(1) reads input multi media data and detects a voice/video mail. A codec(2) encodes the multi media data signal when the input signal is the multi media data signal and decodes a stored multi media data signal. A storage section(3) stores the encoded signal from the codec(2). Audio/video output devices(4,5) reproduce the stored multi media data signal in response to a user's request.
