The invention relates to a pipe coupling or pipe clamp (3) for connecting or repairing pipes (1, 2). Said coupling comprises a sealing cuff (30) and a housing (10). An intumescent coating (8) is applied to the exterior of the coupling to protect against the effects of fire. In the principal embodiment, this dispenses with the conventional multi-ply ceramic fibre woven layers (4) that are currently used in the vicinity of the housing (10). |
