PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for imaging which is manufactured at a low cost and is able to excellently clean a device for fixing without a cost for operation in the case of fixing an image by a device for fixing after the image is formed on a printing media having a coating layer such as a latex layer of which the properties change irreversibly, SOLUTION: A representative structure of an apparatus for imaging includes a device for thermal fixing 9 fixing an image on a printing media P by the fixing rollers 19, 20 and a cleaning means for cleaning the device for thermal fixing 9 in the apparatus for imaging which forms an image on the printing media by a printhead. The cleaning means does not make the cleaning roller 29 contact with the fixing roller 19 at the time of fixing an image and the cleaning roller 29 contacts with the fixing roller 19 for the predetermined time and removes the dirt adhered to the fixing roller by rotating idle the fixing roller 19 at the time not fixing an image. |
