PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet conveyance device which is able to detect a front or a rear edge of the sheet at a constant position, and is able to stably convey the sheet and an image formation apparatus equipped with the device. SOLUTION: An output detection means 101 detects output of a sheet detection means 102 which detects a front or a rear edge of the sheet, and a control means 100a receives detected outputs of the means 101, and if the outputs are the same in succession at prescribed number of times, the means 102 decides that the means 102 has detected the front or the rear edge of the sheet and controls a sheet conveyance speed. The control means 100a enables to detect the front or the rear edge of the sheet regardless of the conveyance speeds of the sheet by receiving the output of the means 101 at an interval of the predetermined amount of sheet conveyance.
