摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic ink jet head capable of preventing deformation of an isolation wall between ink pressurizing chambers in an ink ejection operation even when the thickness of the isolation wall is reduced in order to achieve the high density. SOLUTION: A diaphragm 51 (3) of a nozzle 11 (3) to be driven and a diaphragm 51 (2) of a non-driven nozzle 11 (2) adjacent thereto in the ink jet head 1 are allowed to be attracted to individual electrodes and are maintained to be attracted in standby conditions, respectively. An ink drop is ejected from the driven nozzle 11 (3). After that, the diaphragm 51 (1) is attracted to the individual electrode to be in the standby condition again. As the diaphragm 51 (1) is maintained such that a compliance of an ink pressurizing chamber 5 (2) in a side of the non-driven nozzle becomes small, it is possible to prevent the isolation wall between the driven nozzle and the non-driven nozzle from being deformed by fluctuation of a pressure of ink. As a result, it is possible to prevent deterioration in a characteristic of ejection of ink due to the deformation of the isolation wall and to readily achieve the printing operation with the quality of printing in high resolution and high density.
