PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner which can be attached to and removed from a case easily and enables a hose and extension pipes to latch in a stable manner. SOLUTION: After cleaning, main body 1 of a vacuum cleaner is stored in an upright position with its rear part on the floor. A latching nail of an attachment 52, located on an extension pipe 42 for a lower part, is inserted in and mated with an indented part which opens toward a place above a case 4 for the main body. An extension pipe 41 for an upper part and the extension pipe 42 for a lower part of the extension pipes 15 are removed. An end of a connecting pipe 30, found on a crevice tool 17 which is attached to a means 21 for latching located on a grip 13 near a hose 11, is inserted in and mated with a slit 59 of a protrusion 58 for connecting, found on a connecting means 51 attached to the upper end of the extension pipe 42. When the vacuum cleaner does not come with a crevice tool 17, the means 21 for latching is directly inserted into and mated with an indented part found on a connecting means 51. Since the means 21 is attached to a connecting means 51 found at the upper end of the extension pipe 42 after a simple work of removing the extension pipe 41 for an upper part and the extension pipe 42, the means 21 is attached easily and in a stable manner.
