PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size of a waste ink tank and to treat waste ink appropriately without consuming energy uselessly at the time of print operation. SOLUTION: Waste ink stored temporarily in a waste ink tank 20 fills a removable waste ink cartridge 24 so that the size of the waste ink tank 20 is reduced thus reducing the size of a print mechanism section.
