<p>PURPOSE: A luminescence apparatus is provided to allow one to switch off a light source when required without evoking thermal problems due to unwanted light. CONSTITUTION: A luminescence apparatus comprises a light source(12), a first reflector(18) and a second reflector(34). The first reflector(18) is constituted as a semi-ellipse of two pieces(14,16). The first reflector(18) guides light from the light source(12) to two focal points(22,24). The light guided to the focal points(22,24) enter two optical fibers(30,32). The second reflector(34) selectively diverts some of the light guided to one focal point(24) by the first reflector(18) to the other focal point(22) directly or indirectly. The second reflector(34) is formed by a plane mirror and moved to be arranged within light radiating path toward an aperture(28) of the optical fiber(32) from the geometrical center of the semi-ellipse.</p> |
