PURPOSE: To provide a small type hydraulic shovel to be composed so as for a cabin to be installed without changing the layout of an equipment cover in a conventional small type hydraulic shovel. CONSTITUTION: This small type hydraulic shovel, in which an engine unit, a hydraulic equipment, a fuel tank and the like are accomodated inside a box shaped equipment cover 5 set up from a floor plate 3a of an upper swing part, and an operating sheat 7 is placed on the equipment cover 5, is characterized by the fact that a cabin 6 is installed over the equipment covet 5 and a floor plate 3a, in a situation including a part of a side and back face of its cabin by exposing bothe a side face 5b and a back face 5a of the equipment cover 5 to outside.
