PURPOSE: To provide an EL display unit which prevents a luminous layer material from going around into the adjacent display picture element and restrains colors from mixed. CONSTITUTION: This is a manufacturing method of the display unit in which, on the insulating substrate 10, the organic EL elements 60 with an luminous layer 63 pinched between an anode 61 and a cathode 66, TFT 30 for switching to control the timing of supplying the current into this organic EL elements 60, and TFT 40 to supply the current into the organic EL elements 60 are formed. This can prevent the luminous material from going around into the adjacent luminous layer by the vapor deposition in which a vapor deposition mask 150 is used wherein the width d of an opening 151 of the vapor deposition mask 150 and the thickness h of the vapor deposition mask 150 have the relation of h>n.d, in the event of vapor-depositing the luminous layer 63 on the anode 61. |
