PURPOSE: A countershaft assembly in a manual transmission is provided to reduce load applied to a bearing supporting the countershaft by reducing length of the countershaft and to improve endurance of the manual transmission in extending life span of the bearing. CONSTITUTION: A countershaft assembly of a manual transmission comprises a drive pinion(2) receiving driving force by being connected to an engine; a countershaft(6) rotating by being geared with a pinion gear(4); a main shaft(8) connected to a final reduction gear by a propeller shaft by being horizontally mounted with the countershaft; a synchronous device back shifting by being installed between the main shaft and the countershaft; a driving gear transmitting power by being geared with the synchronous device; and a bearing(38) rotating on both ends of the countershaft by being inserted into a shaft housing(36) to support load of the countershaft. Thereby, the countershaft assembly of the manual transmission reduces the length of the countershaft by minimizing distance between the second and third stage driving gears. Moreover, the countershaft assembly extents the life span of the bearing by reducing the load of the bearing.
