PURPOSE: A key electronic interconnection device is provided to prevent connectors from being damaged by moderate angular forces on the connectors, through a steady and secured connection. CONSTITUTION: An electronic interconnection assembly comprises a high speed coaxial interconnect for a coaxial transmission line having a central signal conductor and a surrounding shield conductor; a mechanical alignment facility portion including a closely mating pocket and body; and a keying arrangement having at least a first protrusion element and a first aperture element capable of receiving the protrusion element. The coaxial interconnect has a male side(72) and a female side, with the female side including a shield sleeve(76) having a chamber that receives a male shield contact on the male side. The shield sleeve has a contact with a compliant portion that flexibly grips the male shield contact. One of the pocket or the body is attached to the male side and the other is attached to the female side, and one of the protrusion element and aperture element is attached to the pocket and the other is attached to the body.
