PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the efficiency of an access to a shared memory, and to improve data transferring performance in a storage controller in a multi- processor constitution equipped with a shared memory. SOLUTION: In the disk array controller 600 constituted so that a channel adapter mounting processor 17 with plural channel adapters 11 for performing input and output control with a host computer 500 and plural disk adapter loading processors 21 of plural disk adapters 20 for performing input and output control with a magnetic disk device 50 can perform access to a shared memory 32, a shared memory loading processor 36 equipped with a built-in data cache 38 is arranged, and access from the channel adapter loading processor 17 and the disk adapter loading processors 21 to the shared memory 32 is executed through the built-in data cache 38 so that a time required for the access to the shared memory 32 can be reduced, and that the performance of the disk array controller 600 can be improved.
