PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil application roller capable of uniformly applying a very small amount of offset preventing oil in the longitudinal direction (axial direction) over a long term in an image fixing unit. SOLUTION: This oil application roller for applying the offset preventing oil to a 1st fixing member consisting of a fixing belt or a fixing roller coming into contact with a toner image or a 2nd fixing member consisting of a pressure roller while abutting on the 1st or the 2nd fixing member is equipped with a core bar (12) and an oil holding and supplying layer (14) formed to cover the outer peripheral surface of the core bar (12) and including a porous elastic body impregnated with the offset preventing oil. The layer (14) has a regular crown surface shape.
