PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a long-life color image forming device which removes the contamination inside an intermediate transfer belt and the friction between the intermediate transfer belt and a drive roller, and is capable of high definition image forming that is transferred precisely onto a sheet of paper the four colors' toner image layered on the intermediate transfer belt before transfer. SOLUTION: The device is constituted that the felt member 66, which is a cleaning member of a cleaning unit 70 that cleans inside the intermediate transfer belt unit 40, is arranged at the side of the lower reaches of the transfer roller 59 and between the intermediate transfer belt 46 and the side of the upper stream of the transfer location of the first color's toner image.
