PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for carrying a battery material, allowing accurate carriage or winding of the battery material, even when a projection of a gel electrolyte layer exists at the edge, and accurate detection of the projection of the gel electrolytic layer. SOLUTION: First color light sensor 6 and second color light sensor 7 are provided for detecting the colors of lights reflected from the surface of the battery material 1, so that whether the tracking position of the battery material 1 is shifted from a preset position or not is decided by a tracking position deciding circuit 8, in accordance with the accurately detected color lights. Based on the decision, a tracking control circuit 5 controls the operation of an edge control servo 4 to traverse a pass roller 3 for performing a tracking adjustment of the battery material 1. |
