PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely improve an error rate when data are reproduced again and rewritten to an area where an uncorrectable error occurs. SOLUTION: Part of a recording medium is reproduced faster than a standard speed to obtain reproduced data, which have errors corrected by using at least two kinds of error correction codes, and information showing the error correction is successful is stored. If some reproduced data can not have their error corrected, the part of the recording medium is reproduced fast to obtain reproduced data, which are rewritten based on the stored information showing that the error correction is successful.
