PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent camera shake in a camera having a camera body formed to be flat an horizontally held in standard form. SOLUTION: The camera body 11 is formed as a flat plate shaped rectangular parallelepiped, and the functional parts of the camera including a photographing optical system 13 are mounted on the camera body 11. The optical system 13 is arranged so that a photographing optical axis A may be parallel with the flat surface of the camera body 11 that is, perpendicularly in a thickness direction and perpendicularly in a longitudinal direction. At the time of photographing in an ordinary standard state, the camera body 11 is held nearly horizontally in a state where the incident side of the optical axis A of the optical system 13 faces to a subject. In such a state, a release button 12 is arranged on the objective surface side of the photographing optical system of the camera body 11, that is, in the vicinity of a right corner part on the side surface on the subject side, in this case.
