PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system/method for providing information and a recording medium which unnecessitate professional techniques, facilitate registration and update of information to be provided and prevent the information quantity from being restricted by a terminal on a user side. SOLUTION: An information registration and distribution processor 31 receives information by sound through a telephone line network 20 from the telephone set 10 of an information providing source and registers the information. The title of this information is converted to character data and its contents is retained as sound data. A terminal for disclosing information 32 discloses the title of the information registered by the processor 31 to users on the Internet 40 as character information. When access is made from a portable telephone terminal 50 through the network 20, the processor 31 distributes the contents of information to the user of this portable telephone terminal as voice information.
