PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photometer capable of realizing photography with appropriate exposure considering influence exerted on an exposure value by the color (light reflectance) of an object photographed by a camera. SOLUTION: A photometric means for normal light 9D performs the division photometry of the object and an exposure decision means decides the exposure of the object based on the photometry output from the means 9D. Then, plural photometric means for colorimetry 9G, 9B and 9R perform photometry on at least one divided area, judge the object color of the area and decide exposure correction amount based on the judged color. Furthermore, the correction value of the exposure correction amount is decided based on a photometric value on the adjacent or peripheral divided areas of the above area and based on a luminance difference (contrast) between an area where colorimetry is performed and the adjacent or the peripheral areas thereof, and the decided exposure correction amount is corrected based on the decided correction value so as the decide appropriate exposure. The appropriate exposure is decided according to the color of the object and the luminance difference between the adjacent or peripheral area and the object, and the appropriate exposure is obtained even when the number of colorimetric areas is small. |
