PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a security system in a POS terminal to limit an input operation in POS terminal, to make it impossible to operate an input by a non-specific operator, and to prevent fraud and theft when a specific operator is absent or an input operation is not performed at certain period of time. SOLUTION: POS terminals 2, 10, 11 are connected to POS main device 1. ROM 4 housing the program and RAM 5 used to store various kinds of master data and to temporarily store calculation-display data are connected to CPU 3 provided in the POS terminal 2. Keyboard 6 is provided to input merchandise data. Alarm unit 8 and time setting portion 9 connected to this CPU 3 are connected each other, and the time setting portion 9 constitutes a part of 'detection means' to output the detection signal when an operation by data input portion such as keyboard 6 is interrupted, the alarm unit 8 constitutes the 'warning means' to give caution based on the detection signal.
