PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lamp socket and a lighting fixture in which a lamp can be retained irrespective to a contact of lamp pin and a contact fittings. SOLUTION: This is equipped with a mounting board 1, a socket main body 2 that has been rotatably mounted on a posture that is tilted by a certain angle to the mounting posture between a lamp mounting posture and a lamp insertion/ detachment posture, and an elastic piece 10 which is mounted on the mounting board 1 and which is made to be elastically deformed to be made to ride over a lamp base protrusion 7 when it is rotated from the lamp insertion/detachment posture to the lamp mounting posture at the state that the lamp 5 is inserted into the socket main body 2 that has been mounted on the mounting board 1, and which supports the lamp base protrusion 7 at the lamp mounting posture of the socket main body 2.
