PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily recover a fault on a medical information storage medium. SOLUTION: A stage 23 for doubly preserving a DICOMDIR file 2 for managing the hierarchical structures of object files 3, 4 and 5 and further for recording recovery information in the case of access to a DICOM medium (medical information storage medium) 1 is provided corresponding to each of DICOMDIR files, when a fault occurs during access, the effective combination of DICOMDIR file and stage is selected and the fault is recovered from that recovery information. Thus, the fault on the medical information storage medium is easily recovered. |
