PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a way for improving conversion efficiency of a chopper circuit and reducing electromagnetic noise. SOLUTION: A main circuit consisting of a main reactor 11, a chopper section 12, a main diode 13 and a main condenser 14 is added with diodes 16, 32 and 33, condensers 17, 31 and an auxiliary reactor 34. The chopper section 12 is soft-switched with the diode 16 and the condenser 17 and, at this time, the energy commutated to the condenser 17 is transferred to a condenser 31 and thereby regenerated to the side of a load 2.
