PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning unit in which a cleaning blade can be made to retreat from an image carrier if necessary with an inexpensive constitution. SOLUTION: When the cleaning unit 60 is attached to/detached from the main body of the image forming device, a stay 65 is slid in its longitudinal direction and the engagement between the stay 65 and a frame in the main body of the device is released. A blade releasing member 70 is attached to the stay 65. By sliding the stay 65, the cam part 72 of the member 70 lifts up the lever part 52 of a rocking member 50. Thus, the member 50 turns around a shaft 34. As a result, the cleaning blade 30 coupled with the member 50 through a bracket 33 is made to retreat from the surface of the photoreceptor.
