PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flash light emitting device where the tension of the spiral part of a cord does not become a hindrance to the setting of the direction of a light emitting part. SOLUTION: In Figure 1, numeral 1 means a camera main body, 2 means a photographing lens, numeral 3 means the light emitting part of the flash light emitting device, and numeral 4 means an adapter for attaching the light emitting part of the flash light emitting device to the edge of the lens. When the cord is not held in a cord holding member 40, the tension of the cord is transmitted to the light emitting part 3 if the entire length of the lens is changed because of focusing or the like. When the cord is held by the member 40, the tension of the cord is not transmitted to the light emitting part 3 even though the entire length of the lens is changed because of focusing or the like.
