PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently obtain a visual image with high resolution and high fixing strength by efficiently heating and fusing toner particles which have been transferred to an interim transfer body, and at the same time fixing them on a medium. SOLUTION: An intermediate transfer body is kept in contact with the toner layers so that excess oil may be removed from the toner layers on which an image is formed, and is equipped with a carrier removing roller that has bias voltage applied in the same direction in which toner particles are pressed down on the image-holding intermediate transfer body. For the surface material on the image forming surface of the intermediate transfer body, dimethylsilicone rubber is employed, and further, after the swelling caused by the carrier oil, the electric resistance of the dimethylsilicone rubber is to be set within the semi-conducting region of 1E4-1E12Ω. |
