PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium in which tracking error signals having the same characteristics can be detected for light beams of two kinds of wavelengths without distortion in the waveform. SOLUTION: In the optical recording medium 1, information recorded in a land 4 and a groove 5 can be reproduced by both a light beam at a first wavelength and a light beam at a second wavelength shorter than the first wavelength. The groove depth is determined in such a manner that even when the detection sensitivity of a photodetector used in the optical pickup device to record and reproduce information in the optical recording medium is different between at the first wavelength and at the second wavelength, tracking error signals over a specified level can be obtained for both of the wavelengths and distortion in the waveform is not produced. |
