<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery separator, which has a bonding strength and a hydrophilicity, and which can be highly sulfonated in loose sulfonation processing conditions, and in which a battery capacity is improved without reducing a battery life, and to provide a battery with a battery separator incorporated. SOLUTION: A nonwoven fabric, which is composed of at least 5 mass % of a synthetic fiber A made by exposing a polymerized polyethylene using a metallocene catalyst (MPE) on at least a part of a fiber surface and at least 5 mass % of a synthetic fiber B made by exposing a high density polyethylene on at least a part of a fiber surface, is manufactured. A thermal bonding using MPE component is performed entirely and a sulfonation is performed to give it a hydrophilicity to make it a battery separator.</p> |
