PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capacitor base body comprised of a capacitor element where the ends of a pair of electrode foils are mutually exposed on the opposite side, which can ensure an insulation creeping distance between the capacitor elements and is highly reliable because of no short circuit. SOLUTION: Insulation papers 8, 8a, and 8b are bent to cover the entire circumferential surface of a half side of a capacitor element between capacitor elements 5, 5a and 5b and between capacitor elements 5a and 5b and assembled iron plates 6a and 6b, and their bend tip ends are extended to the outer circumferential surface of the adjoining capacitor element, and then they are inserted therebetween and assembled. At this time, an insulation spacer 9 is inserted together with the capacitor element to a position where the bending direction of the insulation paper is inversed, thereby eliminating folding of the end of the insulation paper.
